Pass It Down makes it simple to amplify the amount of stories on your platform by allowing your to save one story to multiple collections.
For example, in the exhibit below the story is about a work of art that's been stolen multiple times over the last 500 years. In this case, the curator wants the story to exist in the collection "Stolen Art from the 1600s" and "Stolen Art from the 1800s". Let's take a look to see how this is done.
Step 1: In your story, scroll down to the Choose a Collection tab.
From here, there are two ways to add your story to multiple collections, depending on if you would like to add your story to already created collections or new collections. You are able to do both interchangeably, they simply require slightly different processes.
Step 2a: If you would like to add this story to already created collections, click on the first collection you would like to add it to.
Step 3a: Click the green "Save" button that appears below the collection list after you have clicked on one. This will add this story to the first collection you would like to add it to.
After clicking the "Save" button, a grey confirmation bar will appear indicating that your story is now in that collection.
Step 4a: To add your story to more pre-made collections, repeat steps 2a and 3a until your story has been added to all relevant collections. Each added collection will be confirmed by a new grey confirmation bar.
Step 2b: To create a new collection and add your story to it, click on the "+ New" button.
Step 3b: A field will appear below asking for the name of your new collection. Name your collection.
Step 4b: Click the green "Add" button.
Step 5b: Follow steps 2b-4b for each collection you would like to create and add your story to. A grey confirmation bar will appear for each new collection your story has been added to.
Step 6: Click the "Save Story" button in the bottom right-hand corner of the page to save your story in its new collections.
Your story has been added to multiple new collections!
