Setting the focus on the map allows you to select the specific area of the world your stories occurred in. There are two elements to this. First, you can choose an address around which to center your map. This map center address can be an entire continent or a single house. Secondly, you can choose a map zoom level, which determines how much of the area surrounding your center address is shown. You can set the zoom as wide as the entire world or as narrow as a single neighborhood.
There are two ways to choose the map focus. The first is when you are initially creating the exhibit (A), the second after the exhibit has already been made (B).
Step 1A: If you are creating a new exhibit, click the "+ New App" button in your institution's Exhibits page.
Step 2A: A pop-up window will appear. Give your new exhibit a title and choose the template. Both are required to save your new exhibit.
Step 3A: Scroll down to the field titled "Map Center Address" and select it. Type in the address you wish to center your map around. It can be anything from a continent to a single address.
This field is required to create a new exhibit.
Step 4A: To choose your map zoom, click on the drop-down menu titled the same and select your preferred zoom. It is below the "Map Center Address" field. It is not required to save a new exhibit.
Step 5A: Click the "Save App" button at the bottom of the pop-up.
Your new exhibit now has a set map center address and zoom!
